party shout

Those are actually "social morays" from a Ken Brown postcard
http://www.hoopla.org/KenBrown/Postcards/pages/C219.htm

I dunno how everyone feels about wearing heavily photoshopped copy-righted material, but since I assume we're not in this to make a profit, I don't have any problem with it.

Hmmmm, although Bill, your seeing dinosaurs could put this shirt design on a somewhat original and wholly awesome tangent!

I'll begin work right now.

Whoah, that statistics package is incredible, with the amount of useful information it yields that you wouldn't otherwise discover.

I wonder if the "About Us" page could function like a Wiki, where the first person writes a quick blurb, and then anybody can click (edit) and add more to the yarn.

Re: Keyboards

Awesome! In addition to being a great instrument, isn't the Nord enclosure completely bad-ass in appearance??

I neglected to tell you that I already got a keyboard! Ah well. I never got a chance to play the Stage88, as stores didn't have it in stock or on display, and there actually was a bit of a time crunch on when I needed to buy it. The Stage88 was also out of my price range, anyway. Well, my parents' price range that is, since it ended up being a compound birthday / belated graduation gift.

I ended up getting the Korg TR, which is what used to be the Triton LE before they introduced the new Triton Extreme. It's a solid keyboard. Not as... vintagey? classic? with the interface style as the Clavia models. And part of me misses that awesome RED enclosure they have. But the Korg TR has good sound, simple & clean interface, a sequencer, and a sampler, all for an affordable price and a sleek, black exterior. I swear that's not the ad copy.

The keyboard's still stranded in NYC, though, where we bought it so that I could play it at my dad's 50th birthday party -- my mom promises to visit the 'Burgh soon and bring it with her.

Zach, those designs are totally dope! I think the Dinosaurs one is a hit with everyone. The smoking dino is hilarious. Jon said that one can be printed, if the image is scaled back a little from covering the entire shirt.

re: about us page: People come by here everyday from their statistics packages due to the links that we post. It would be nice to have a little 'hello, and welcome, we are a house + friends named after a dish washer'

I guess I just wrote our about page.

also, a funny story

some one just posted this to misc.market

I am a 27 yr. old with a master in Social Psychology and I´m with my husband who is doing his civil engineer PhD. Were are going to be around for a couple of years and until I get a chance to apply for my own PhD I´m looking for an stable job, and babysitting would be perfect because of my previous experience with children.
We are currently living in Squirrel Hill (two blocks away from Murray) so I prefer to attend the areas of Squirrel Hill/Shadyside. My Schedule is very open and references are available.

BABYSITTING WITH A MASTERS DEGREE? WTF!!?

zach, re: normals mapping.

As far as I know, the normal is used to consider what direction is the face and what is the back of a poly. I'm not 100% on this, but I think that it helps when you are creating auto or manual UVs. It may affect continuous textures across a surface less than something that needs to be painted.

But to be safe, I'd check with some one else.
