One more post about the 9/11 site:

actual NYTimes caption to this picture:
Gov. George E. Pataki declared the start of construction of the Freedom Tower today even though work began weeks ago.
so we just had a fire drill on my floor, and i think we would all die in case of a real fire. Also they informed us that they are constructing a space within the building that we can go into incase of a bio/toxic/radioactive attack. but it will only be safe for two hours. hmmmm, yea somehow i think they are neglecting to tell us that the space will be really small and they probably only think that about a quarter of the people will make it before they die. if even. you would think this being right next to ground zero we would top of the line super duper attack protocol. ok so i probably shouldn't have posted that online. er . . . I was joking, we have EXCELLENT protocol! yea, that will throw them off . . . whoever them is.

If you have never read The Death and Life of Great American Cities, it is a phenomenal book. If I can find my copy I'd be glad to lend it.

Ahhhh!!!! My MacBook won't sleep. It will if I tell it to, but if I close the lid... nuthin. I've seen posts on the internet about the MacBook taking a long time to sleep (like 30-45 sec) but not 30 min! I've also seen posts about a revision to a logic board that occurred after the MacBook I have was manufactured. Any suggestions before I take my baby back to the store? *sniff* they will fix you... it'll be okay... *tear* no... they'll probably replace you... *whimper* oh well...
