dinner will be a little late tonight (say approximately 9:15) but it will be a delicious pork roast.
be there.
Hey Yann, thanks for giving your opinion. I talked to Jon about it too, and I think we're going to take a trip out to Pianos & Stuff this week, where I'll do the headphones thing that you described.
Yeah, the Stage88 does seem over-the-top. I think the Electro2 would be more up my alley. I am actually interested in having some basic "built-in effects", because I'm more into playing for a hobby. I imagine that the better way to add effects is through software like ProTools, but I'm not really looking to get into recording heavily, as it's not my day job.
How do you add effects when you play your keyboard live? Do you patch it through your laptop, using it like a Midi controller and add the effects in real time?
ScanZoom | Using ScanZoom software downloaded to their cameraphones, shoppers can snap a picture of a product's bar code and get direct access to PriceGrabber's or Amazon's information for that product, from product descriptions and customer ratings to e-tailer prices. If the e-tailer's price is right, the produt can immediately be bought online. Next could be a service that would tell users which other real-world stores within one or two miles offer the same product at a lower price.
This thing is sweet!
here's a little movie file of the 1930's dance hall we've been recording my brother's album in:

we discovered a deliciously out of tune piano behind the stage.
hey billy, that stage88 seems a bit bloated to me. do you really need that many buttons and knobs? i sort of distrust keyboards that have "built-in effects". i'm sure it sounds great, though...Clavia equipment is pretty much guaranteed to be top-notch quality stuff. one day I will sell my firstborn to buy a Nord Lead.
definitely steer clear of motorized faders. completely worthless.
have you looked at any Korgs? I'm generally pretty impressed with their sound and feel. The SP250 looks promising, although I haven't tried it out. It's way cheaper than the Clavias, because it doesn't have any of the synthesis stuff built in. That might be more down your alley, though. It doesn't impress the ladies as much, though.
I think your best bet is to bring a pair of headphones that you're familiar with and go to a keyboard store and try them all out until you find one you like.
hmm. I hope that helps. let me know if you have more questions.
OK *phew*. Was afraid I had incurred a $50 fine for you or something.
I guess you're just using your American bank account while you're over there?
Hey, did anybody in London comment on the "VIVA" tag yet?
haha! don't worry about it, billy. I actually just got an email from one of my freelancers saying they're sending the check tomorrow. there's enough money in the account right now, so it shouldn't be a problem. i had a freak-out session this morning but it looks like things are okay after all.
SHIT
Yann, I deposited the check yesterday afternoon :-(
I will call the bank and see if they can delay the clearing of the check. I'm sorry man.
hey hey Partymode LLC,
so I noticed that you guys have not deposited that check that I gave you yet. could you do me a favor and not deposit it for another week or so? I'm waiting on my checks for my freelance stuff. I promise I'll let you know as soon as I have the funds...
sorry for being so pitiful.
I need to sleep and this is the first time I've seen a computer today but I think your idea is brilliant Zach. I will just edit this post tommorrow evevning to say more. And, I think I will re-read "a modest proposal" Bill, that sounds like a good possibility as well.
EDIT: Well... I also just found an interesting link. A design busines and studio accredidation organization.
