Josh is making awesome lists
why didn't p.mode make the cut? ;) partymode: perpetually the 11th coolest thing in the universe.
this is for dan... lets talk about lego mindstorms... is there any reason I shouldn't go for the non-nxt versions?
I am probably going to skip right past the graphical programming stuff, and go to c or whatever.
will I be kicking myself in 3 months, and having to buy an nxt version? Am I going to need to buy two (4?) kits to do anything fun with it anyways?
here is the current list of projects that I want to build with it.
- Something that produces portraits with colored beads. Accepting the fact that I will probably need to off load the image processing that can handle opencv.
- A robo drummer.
- a stop motion animation guy. he will move around pieces of junk according to some math, dunno. or maybe a plotter that will do drawings and trigger a camera (the camera thing might need to be offloaded to a real computer as well).
- an electromechanical game (racing game? probably, but maybe a pinball game)
really? i'm the one that comes through for FMT??
see you in the replies

I forgot about this comment, and just rediscovered it today... some guy that has a family trust that splits all of the companies / successes that any family member has. This is different than a trust fund as far as I can tell.
I am sure there are giant downsides to this kind of plan, but it is pretty interesting to me.
I will be in the air on friday on my way to India (woooooo), so I am posting an early music post.
Reminiscent of a partymode favorite Onny posted ages ago.
