This upcoming game is pretty cool... you get powerups that change the world from 2 -> 4 -> 8 -> 16bit. I liked how this was reflected in the music--examples are 3/4 of the way down the page.

The first one is mediocre but they get up to somewhat entertaining pretty fast. Any how... It's character-based.
