Actually, the only (make that main actually, I have lots of reasons) reason that I didn't do the thread to file thing was because I couldn't figure out a decent way to work in displaying the whole picture along with the thread...

perhaps a bigger version of the image thumbnails as they are now?

Also, will there be two buttons? a replace and a 'discuss'? or maybe click on the image to bring up the thread?

all these questions, so don't know how to answer.
