I think the ids for replies finally caught up with the ids for posts. wat a stupid bug on my part.
while I am here (and not that I want to do this too bad)... but a quick poll... who wants posts with new replies to get topped? I have held off of this feature for a while, but I think it might be nice. I could also put recently topped discussions in a sidebar or something... let me know.
that has happened to me before, not sure how recently / long ago, but I thought of it as more of a feature (encouragement against endless self-editing) than a bug

If JB's theory's correct, it just means that teh 'mode has a healthy crop of replies -- a very good thing. Right?

i have a hard time imagining what it would be like if the replies get topped. i wonder if it would change the conversation dynamic at all? sounds interesting and worth a try!

Haha, yeah, I would endlessly tweak even the briefest post if nothing got in the way! Totally a feature, from my perspective...
Topping most recent replies does sound like a worthy experiment. An especially interesting thing about p.mode is that almost all 'threads' are identified visually/graphically, by the name of the original poster + the YouTube vids, images, and even paragraph shapes that are paired with it. After just a few glances at today's front page, you get to know Onny's latest post or Agata's latest post based on those graphical elements, and your mind can ID it in (probably) milliseconds. This is a much more fun forum cataloging system than the mainstream/canned threaded-topics-index-with-subject-lines approach. Throwing topped replies into the mix may have the result of feeling like you've set your prized music (or art/design?) collection to party shuffle! Woo hoo!
...While you're at it, JB, could you write some magical code that sends each separate p.mode topic page to Safari, causing the browser to automatically display each topic as a graphical icon/snapshot in that latest nifty homebase grid-layout thinger, for even faster visual browsing of partymode? And most recent replies can sort to the top-left? I don't know why I'm requesting this, I don't even have a gosh-darn Mac! :-/
