Ok first off, I LOVE the original compilation.
For some reason the sounds of the instruments sound clearer and crisper in the Remix. Especially when the piano is introduced. It gives me the shiver-down-me-spine feeling. So i really like the remix for that.
I am not sure how i feel about the other sounds affects added to the remix. Some of them seem to slide on in naturally, like the bells in around 1:20. But every time i hear the buzz sound around 2:10 I immediately look at my cell phone to see if it is ringing. Seriously, this happened to me like three times. Like pavlov's dog...
And then all the added affects after that are a give and take. Some of them seem natural again and couple others seem to stand out. I can't verbalize which ones i mean though.
But i still love it. Even after saying all that.
thanks agata! i kinda agree with all of that.
the instruments sound clearer and crisper in the remix because it's mixed a lot better - the original version is pretty much unmixed, while in the remix i did all the lovely little tricks that make crappy recordings sound good.
in other words, i can make the original version sound crisper. maybe i will tomorrow just for you!
